Angel Dixon is the first agency signed model with a physical impairment to feature in a national television campaign,. Her mission is to challenge society’s perception of disability. The international Mercedes Benz Fashion Week model and 2019 QLD Young Australian of the Year is a passionate activist for universal design and disability inclusion.
Aware of the power that the media has in forming perceptions, Angel is advocacy manager for not-for-profit organisation, Starting With Julius, and CEO of the Attitude Foundation. Both organisations seek to accelerate the inclusion of people with disability through the creation of authentic media and education on inclusive principals.
Angel is an activist and model who works on passion projects in the area of universal design and disability inclusion.
She is a two-time international Mercedes Benz Fashion Week model and in 2017 became the first adult disabled model to be featured in a national television commercial in Australia.
More recently Angel has been awarded 2019 QLD Young Australian of the Year. This ‘fireside chat’ will explore Angel’s story, the highs and lows of her mission is to challenge society’s perception of disability, and what she has learnt along the way.
